Always Be Building Strong Bones

Regardless of the “symptoms” of menopause which of course bone loss is one, focusing on strengthening your bones is a great thing to do at all ages.

Bones are living organisms and they respond to physical and mental stimuli – just like every cell in your body! Here are a few things you can do something about right NOW.

  • Cut back or eliminate caffeine and alcohol.
  • Quit smoking
  • Eat plenty of fruits (low-sugar varieties) and vegetables – at least 5 servings a day
  • Do regular weight bearing exercise – minimum three sessions per week
  • Take your Vitamin D and get some natural sunlight
  • Get a bone density test done
  • Are you seeing a pattern here? Much of the advice to ease through perimenopause and menopause is the same as other times of your life. Take great care of yourself and the sooner the better.
